At the top, you’ll also see your network signal strength compared to all other networks in your area. You can also connect to other networks directly through the application, and the process is easy! Just click on the network you wish to connect to, enter the password, and we’ll get you connected.
You can see which devices are connected to your network by heading to the Connected Devices section. Once you’re there, all you need to do is press the “Scan” button, and Identi-Fi will discover the devices on your network.
You can choose which networks to show on the Network Analyzer graph by using the Filter Networks option. All you need to do is select which networks you want to appear, and Identi-Fi will do the rest!
The Network Analyzer screen’s default view is to show you 2.4GHz networks, but you can easily switch between 2.4 and 5GHz by pressing the green “Switch” button next to the Frequency label.
To create a heat map of your home or office, navigate to the Signal Strength screen and to the left, select the Heat Map section, as shown below.
We’ve filled out some pre-defined rooms for you, but feel free to Add or Edit any room using the buttons that we’ve labeled below:
Once you’ve filled out the rooms you want to test, walk with your device to each room labeled and press the “Test” button that is associated with the room that you’re in. Repeat this process for every room that you’ve labeled, and once finished, Identi-Fi will have sorted your rooms from strongest signal strength to weakest.
To check if your signal strength is in the “normal” range, navigate to the Signal Strength section and let our real time scanner do the work for you. If your signal strength result is green you’re exactly where you need to be. If you’re signal strength is yellow you are below average, and if you’re signal strength is in the red, your signal strength is extremely poor and needs immediate attention.
